Parent Support

Parenting is Hard

Parent Support Can Help!

I help frustrated parents regain confidence in parenting and build a better understanding of their children and themselves.

My clients struggle like you do. Despite being driven, sensitive, and kind, life is hard. When they first come in, parents describe daily meltdowns and impossible power struggles. While they love their kids more than anything, they’ve come to dread certain times of the day such as mealtimes and bedtime. While peaceful, happy moments do exist, my clients don’t let themselves fully enjoy these moments because they know that chaos could erupt at any time. They’re exhausted from constantly trying to provide more love and affection, only to feel like there’s this bottomless pit they could never fill. They’re disconnected from their child and sometimes find them hard to be around.

My clients are stuck in an unhelpful cycle that feels too far gone to reverse. They often harbor a fear of raising their children in the same way they were parented. Their own childhood wasn’t as idyllic as it could have been, and they don’t want to repeat those same patterns.

All this chaos, conflict and confusion gets in the way of the life these parents want. They’re stressed and operating in survival mode. They feel like their failing as parents and their confidence in parenting is tanking.

Before they came to see me, they thought they were beyond help. They worried that this was the way things would be and they were supposed to just ride the wave until their child grew out of it. Parent support provides frustrated parent with a way out of this uncomfortable cycle.

Like my clients, you deserve to experience an ordinary Tuesday as an opportunity for happiness and harmony. A calm, connected relationship with your child is not out of your reach.

If you want to end the chaos and find connection, I’d love to help you get there.

Reach out. I can help.

Parent Support

To the world you are a mother, but to your family you are the world.

Unkown

The process

We’ll start by identifying the problems. We’ll go on a fact-finding mission together (in the comfort of my office) where we detail every single problem that pops up for you as a parent. We’ll also discuss your own childhood history to build an understanding of the way you were parented.

Next, we’ll decide what to focus on first and create a concrete plan.

Once that’s nailed down, we’ll discuss strategies you can implement right away. In our sessions we’ll build insight into your thought patterns, build coping skills for the tough times, and use your strengths as a springboard.

Some of my clients then opt to delve more deeply into the impact of their childhood on their present-day parenting journey. Others choose to focus solely on the present.

We’ll work together to get you to the place you want to be, and you’ll always be welcome to come back for a refresher session as needed.
